FarmSafe Skills is the third step of a 3-pronged approach to farm safety. FarmSafe Skills interactive workshops are held over two days, some weeks apart.  Each specialist workshop focuses on increasing the practical skills of those who work on the land, ensuring that you, your family and your staff have the necessary skills to work safely.

FarmSafe Skills - Riding ATV's

The key focus of the ATV workshop is to gain knowledge in operating an ATV safely. This workshop involves two interactive days, held some weeks apart and is suitable for beginners through to advanced riders.

What the Workshop Covers:

The two days cover:

  • safety features
  • safe riding of an ATV on flat and undulating terrain
  • maintenance
  • safety equipment
  • assessment of your ability

FarmSafe Skills - Agrichemicals Approved Handler

The key focus of the Agrichemicals Approved Handler workshop is to gain knowledge in the safe use of agrichemicals and upon successful completion of the workshop, obtain an Agrichemical Approved Handler Certificate.

This workshop involves one day and is suitable for all farmers and growers, staff and family members who purchase, store or use agrichemicals.

What the Workshop Covers:

The day covers:

  • Safe usage, maintenance and storage of agrichemical
  • The HSNO Act (responsibilities when using agrichemicals to control pests)
  • The occupational hazards associated with agrichemical use
  • Identifying and interpreting agrichemical product information
  • Safety equipment
  • Assessment of your knowledge

  • Improve your understanding and knowledge of the safe use and storeage of agrichemicals
  • Understand the legal requirements and occupational hazards associated with agrichemicals
