A Health & Safety Plan is an essential component of any successful rural business, ensuring that the ‘Health & Safety in Employment Act’ is covered thoroughly and that all practicable steps have been taken to ensure the health and safety of those in the workplace.
Putting a comprehensive Health & Safety Plan together can at times appear to be a bit daunting, however with a FarmSafe Consultant on the job, it can be completed thoroughly and efficiently. It can also be advantageous to have a fresh set of eyes involved as often someone new to the property can identify hazards or other areas of concern that may otherwise overlooked.

WSD (WORKPLACE SAFETY DISCOUNT) APPLICATION
ACC’s Workplace Safety Discount is a way to save 10% off the work component of the ACC levy for farm employers and self-employed who can demonstrate sound health and safety practices.
To make this savings, a WSD Application must be completed and to assist in this process, a FarmSafe consultant will come to your property and work through the requirements and assist you with all the details.
ACC are also introducing “Experience Rating”, which is a no claims process based on historical claims. Applicants may be eligible for both WSD and Experience Rating discounts and savings can therefore be made in both these areas. INCIDENT/ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION – HUMAN FACTORS IN FARMING
FarmSafe’s service involves a confidential report being prepared when a work-related incident/accident occurs on a farm property.
A FarmSafe Consultant will visit your property and using a Human Factors Analysis Tool, will conduct a thorough analysis of the incident and provide a report with recommendations.
