This Service is for those people who SUPPLY Agrichemicals and who currently hold an Agrichemical Approved Handler Certificate – Storage. An Agrichemical Approved Handler Certificate is required under the Hazardous Substance and New Organisms Act (HSNO) when purchasing and using agrichemicals that the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA, formerly ERMA) deem it necessary to be certified to purchase or apply in a wide and dispersive manner.
Agrichemical Approved Handler certificates have a 5 year life and need to be renewed.
This renewal process is designed for Approved Handlers of Agrichemicals who are seeking to renew their Agrichemical Approved Handler Certificate.
To renew a Agrichemical Approved Handler Certificate you must know about any relevant changes that have occurred to the HSNO legislation, any changes to the NZ Standard 8409:2004 and changes to work practice of agrichemical application since your previous Agrichemical Approved Handler Certificate was issued.
Supplier Agrichemical Approved Handler Renewal
Our renewal service outlines the changes since your last certificate was issued and after paying the fee, following the steps and answering questions relating to the changes you will have completed the renew process.
FarmSafe offers you two easy options for you to renew your certificate:
1. Online – For broadband or fast dial-up speed you can renew your certificate in approximately 30-45 minutes.
2. Home Pack – request a Home pack either online or by phoning FarmSafe on
0800 545 747.
How does our online renewal process work?
The 4 steps to renewing your Approved Handler Certificate:
1. Register and Create an Account.
You will be required to complete the User Registration where you will choose a username and password. This will allow you to have a unique logon that will access the renewal system.
2. Application Form
You will require your current Approved Handler Certificate number and expiry date to complete this form. If you have misplaced your certificate and you are an existing FarmSafe client, you can call FarmSafe on 0800 545 747 to obtain this information.
If you are not an existing FarmSafe client you will need to obtain a copy of your certification from your original Test Certifier or Training organisation.
After completing the information required, read the declaration and type accept in the box.
3. Pay the Renewal Fee
If you choose to renew your certificate online, the renewal fee is $115.00 (GST incl.). If you wish to receive a Home Pack the fee is $135.00 (GST incl.) Payment can be made by credit card, charge to FarmlandS or Ravensdown account or by invoice (direct credit/cheque). Once payment is confirmed you may proceed with your renewal.
4. Review the resources and complete the Assessment
Your unique logon will give you access to instructional resources. These will provide you information about relevant changes to the legislation since your previous certificate was issued.
After you have reviewed the resources there will a short 10 question multi-choice assessment which you can complete and submit online. Your unique logon details allow you to have 3 attempts at the assessment over 28 days.
Once you have submitted your successfully passed assessment online, we will collate the information required and submit it to the Test Certifier to issue you with a new Agrichemical Approved Handler Certificate.
